New multi-purpose hall in Nuuk
Development of new flexible multi-purpose hall in Nuuk
We are currently working on an outline proposal for a new Multiflexible Sports Hall in Nuuk, Greenland. The vision is to strengthen the sports life in Nuuk with the aim of getting more citizens of all ages and both sexes to participate in a wide range of sports activities that are not currently available.
The new sports facility will serve as a local gathering place in Nuuk. A place that will accommodate sports activities both for schoolchildren and recreational athletes, but also for elite sports.
The sports facility will host education, a diverse sports life and act as a social gathering place for both the city's young and elderly population. The sports hall will facilitate a variety of activities to be carried out in parallel, enabling different user groups to meet and providing space for associations and individuals to pursue their interests in a vital community.
The vision is to future-proof the need for sports facilities in Nuuk in a way that the sports hall will provide a centre for life and movement and bring the city and surrounding nature together. Well thought-out connecting roads will ensure fast connections between school, Innussivik, Godthåbhallen and the rest of the city. The idea is also to build new paths and roads for mountain biking, jogging, skiing, snowmobiling, etc.
