New Danish hour record set at Thorvald Ellegaard Arena by Martin Toft Madsen! This record is also the world's 3rd best timer record ever.
The cycling track in Odense is a state of the art facility designed to international standards by Mikkelsen Architects and built by internationally renowned cycling track specialist Peter Junek. The lightweight membrane roofing of the arena, together with the track, forms a beautiful and homogeneous setting for cycling activities, in a sustainable and material-optimised construction, with pleasant filtered daylight.
The time world record was set by Belgian Victor Campenaerts on the velodrome in Aguascalientes in Mexico's highlands (1887 m.a.s.l.), which puts Martin Toft Madsen's achievement in perspective, as the cycling track in Odense is just 20 m.a.s.l.
