Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen

Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen, the facade takes shape

With a clear and simple external geometry, the new Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen (SDCC) fits into the overall structure and scale of Herlev Hospital, while creating an independent and characterful building expression. A sculptural relief effect is created in the offset between the deep windows and the outer frame. The offset and fine-mesh modulation help to differentiate the design and function of the façade - differentiating the public and more private zones of the building.

The facade is made of profiled and perforated galvanised steel, which through texture and materiality reflects light, contributing to the building's changing expression - both during the day and over a whole year.
