The marketplace in Hillerød has its grand opening
The 'Market Square' in Hillerød has its grand opening today
The block buildings are at full height and brickwork and completion works are well underway. This will be celebrated with food and drink on Wednesday 25 January 2023, when the developer PFA has invited everyone to the topping-out ceremony, and as is tradition, there will be thank-you speeches to the building contractors and craftsmen, among others.
The new building will contain various functions, including housing and a hotel, which will help to ensure life and activity on the Market Square around the clock.
By placing the hotel on Slangerupgade, with restaurant and café, activity and accessibility for local residents will be ensured, and the ground floors will appear relatively transparent towards the Market Square, creating interaction with the new urban space that is emerging here.
With the layout and architecture of the buildings, a unique building is established with reference to both the castle and the city's other brick buildings, and the scale is adapted to the context, creating coherence with existing courtyards to the east and Slotsgade.
The dwellings are divided into two building volumes with the possibility of outdoor living or balconies on both sides. The building will be DGNB Gold certified.
