International project won

Mikkelsen Arkitekter has won the contract for the Lash Miller Chemical Building Expansion at the University of Toronto, Canada.
The new university building is an extension to the existing large campus and will house state-of-the-art laboratories, classrooms and student administration. The building will house two important research initiatives: the Acceleration Consortium (AC). In addition, the DKK 370 million project will help put focus on the Department of Chemistry and highlight the innovative and visionary research taking place here.
With this project, Mikkelsen Arkitekter will add new and modernized research and teaching facilities to the university, adding a building that supports a flexible, functional and open study environment that participates in future research.
Mikkelsen Arkitekter is collaborating with local Cumulus Architects, international ARUP engineers and mcCallumSather as laboratory specialists on the project, which we started in September.
The assignment is in line with Mikkelsen Arkitekter's DNA, where some of our strongest projects in the portfolio are within laboratories, university education buildings and transformation projects.
Additional consultants on this specialized assignment include RWDI (Energy & Environment), Bousfield (Planning), LMDG (Occupational Health & Safety), Aercoustics (Vibration), Marshall and Murray (Cost Analysis), Soberman (Elevators), and Spyder (Hardware).
