The post office site in Hillerød, which houses the old post office from 1976, is located right next to Hillerød Station. The old post office building will be preserved and transformed into housing, building on top of the existing structure to create a total of five floors of housing. A recreational area will also be established between the buildings and a pathway will be established across the site.

The project consists of 300 micro homes on four floors on top of the existing concrete building. In addition, a new building facing Sdr. Jernbanevej will be built, which in addition to housing will contain 96 parking spaces in an underground parking garage. The new floors to be built on top of the old post office will be constructed of wood, metal and glass.

Micro living for young people

The small living units are primarily aimed at young people who can see themselves in the 'micro living' housing concept, of which more and more are being built in Denmark.

We expect that the new micro living apartments in Hillerød will give both students and recent graduates a real opportunity to pay to live in a newly built home. The basic idea behind micro living is that you rent a small place that is your own, but you have a share in larger rooms and facilities that you share with others.
