New Steno Diabetes Center Greenland in the pipeline
Mikkelsen Architects, together with MT Højgaard Greenland, Gade Mortensen Akustik, Spangenberg og Madsen and Arssarnerit A/S, have been prequalified for the competition phase of Steno Diabetes Center Greenland.
We are currently designing, measuring, calculating and calculating on what we hope can become a new landmark for the city of Nuuk, a gathering point for the area's citizens who struggle with the disease every day and a research house that will further develop the existing research environments in diabetes and lifestyle-related diseases.
The organisations behind the tender, the Greenlandic Government and the Novo Nordisk Foundation, see the new Steno Diabetes Center Greenland (SDCG) as a future nationwide knowledge, development and treatment centre for a strengthened diabetes and lifestyle initiative. The SDCG will be integrated into the existing structure of the Greenland Health Service and will help to provide a strengthened treatment effort with an even higher level of ambition.
The new Steno Diabetes Center will be the driving force behind a strengthened competence development of employees in the health care system in Greenland and the house can be a catalyst for developing projects and offers targeted at employees in the municipalities.
