Mikkelsen Architects designs preliminary project for Følager ‘Spidsen’

The ‘tip’ of Ny Ellebjerg Station is located at Følager in Valby. The location of the station, which will be one of the largest in the country, is unique and will be reflected in the development.

Følagers' development is characterized by one- to two-story plinth buildings with outward-facing retail outlets on the ground floor and a public path at first-floor level that winds its way through the roof gardens associated with the building volumes above.

The development forms the superstructure of the land belonging to the City of Copenhagen, the western station forecourt, and creates a special situation that, in further development, will provide exciting opportunities for both the building and the square and their interrelationship.

Through a series of studies, we have examined how the building rights can best be utilized on this particular plot of land. In addition to the preliminary design at Følager, we are very familiar with the area from our youth housing project at Poppelstykket.
