Dansehallerne, Kedelhuset is longlisted for Renoverprisen 2025
We are pleased to announce that our project Dansehallerne in Kedelhuset, Carlsbergbyen, has been selected for the Renovation Award longlist 2025.
The award is presented by Grundejernes Investeringsfond and the philanthropic association Realdania to celebrate good renovation and create greater visibility and recognition of renovation as a discipline.
Movement creates life
Dansehallerne in Kedelhuset is an example of how close collaboration across disciplines can create a vibrant, high-quality building culture with special consideration for the needs of users. Our transformation strategy has been centered around respecting and staging the existing conservation values. New additions are in dialog with the historic framework so that new and old reinforce each other.
The client behind the project is Bygningsfonden Kedelhuset and was carried out in collaboration with VITA engineers. In addition, Gade & Mortensen Akustik and Julius Nielsen og Søn are on the team as specialist contractors.
We need to renovate more rather than demolish
The Renovation Award has been awarded for more than a decade, but it has never been more important than now. This is due to a growing awareness that renovating existing buildings, rather than demolishing and building new ones, can reduce the climate impact of construction and save resources.
Rewards user-centricity among other things
The projects are assessed on the basis of six main criteria in the form of exemplary value, solid collaboration, inspiring resource initiatives, professional quality, user focus and vibrant building culture. In this way, the Renovation Award embraces the entire process behind a successful renovation project in 2025.
From the longlisted projects, the Renovation Award Nomination Committee selects five to seven nominated projects for the final vote. The winner is chosen among 70 construction professionals.
Renoverprisen was first awarded in 2013 to celebrate and highlight Denmark's best renovation projects
