Nikolaj Rahbek Ernst participated in a professional debate on transformation in Munich
Last week, Nikolaj Rahbek Ernst, partner at Mikkelsen Architects, participated in a panel discussion at Architekturgalerie München as part of gmp's exhibition "UMBAU - Nonstop Transformation."
The event, which tied in with DBZ's November theme of building in existing structures, brought together prominent voices in remodeling and transformation. In addition to moderator Benedikt Kraft (Deputy Editor-in-Chief, DBZ), the panel consisted of Elke Reichel (Reichel Schlaier Architekten), Florian Götze (Wandel Lorch Götze Wach), Stephan Schütz and Christian Hellmund (gmp - von Gerkan, Marg und Partner).
Representing Mikkelsen Arkitekter, Nikolaj Rahbek Ernst contributed perspectives on how transformation and reuse of existing buildings can create more sustainable and long-term architecture. The discussion highlighted the breadth of approaches in the field and the increasing importance of working with - and not against - the existing building stock.
